The NPSTC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, was founded in 2020 to support the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC)

The main purpose of the NPSTC Foundation is to solicit and manage funds in support of the continued operation of NPSTC.

Up until now, funding support for NPSTC has come from Federal grants to a support contractor, starting in the early days from the U.S. Department of Justice and in recent years from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Unfortunately, the funding from DHS that supported NPSTC has recently ceased due to changing federal priorities.

Because of the funding problem, the NPSTC Governing Board, with support from their member organizations, decided to facilitate the formation of a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation called the NPSTC Foundation to solicit and manage funds in support of the continued operation of NPSTC.

NPSTC will continue to operate as a federation of organizations with financial support from the NPSTC Foundation.
